more snow, more photos, more pages
I took the opportunity to do a few more pages today... got some great photos of the boys in the snow. Erin went out for 30 seconds, was annoyed, and went back in the house.
The boys carved out some cool forts... :)

snow day today, memories of 3 weeks of snow days...
So we got hit with another foot of snow last night. It certainly looks beautiful, but it's kinda messy out there right now. The kids are trying to sled, but the snow is so deep they're just sinking into it... Was it this difficult when I was a kid? Here's what the house looks like right now...

So today's challenge from My Memories Suite fan page on facebook was to use a particular font, KR Snowflake, on your page. Since I just took these 5 minutes ago, I really had no other snow pictures, but still had not scrapped the 2008 ice storm photos or my ice storm memories. So here it is below.

MMS Challenge
Due to the horribly cold temperatures, MMS Challenged us to think of warmer times...
I chose these photos of my friend's daughter that I took in Humarock in 2008... She's a real beauty...

Craftcrave
Wow, what can I tell you about CraftCrave?
Well, most importantly, it's ranked either #1 or #2 for digital scrapping websites. I like it because they show everyday all the freebies that are available on the web.
Because of them I found Lindsay Jane Designs and Gotta Pixel, two websites I look at more often than I'd like to admit... and for as many freebies/purchases made, somehow my interpretations of the designs always look a wee bit different...
But check out this kit I bought today with a paypal credit lying dormant for some time... all this for $5.99 and I can use the pieces over and over!!!
Check it out at Gotta Pixel... and let me know if you'd like to learn how to use Polaroid's My Memories Suite, the easiest digital scrapbooking software on the planet. No photoshop required!!!

Who knew how far a company would go to make ME happy?

Here is a page I had been working on for a while. I was having a bit of trouble getting it right. I uploaded to MMS's fan page, and within minutes, I had comments from a half dozed people as to improvements I could make.
When I couldn't do the pennant lettering the way I wanted, someone from MMS DID THE LETTERING FOR ME AND EMAILED IT TO ME!!!
What other company would do that???

This blog is back!

Funny how I stopped blogging the same time I found facebook... Must just be a coincidence...
Well, since I'm back, and spending so much time doing digital scrapbooking, I thought this would be a great way to show off what I've been doing (which really means showing off my kids)...
This page came together fast using MMS since it was a template of 9 squares... It would have taken all day the old fashioned way... measuring and cutting the photos, trying to mount them in the right spot...
Love MMS (My Memories Suite)!!!

Splitcoast Challenge - Musical Card

Ok, so this week's challenge was to create a card using a musical theme. Click here to see the other cards people made.
The only stamp that I have with anything to do with music was this background stamp. It has the words "Lullabye, and goodnight!" and so on.
It gave me a chance to make my favorite kind of card, which is the baby card that I turned this into. Usually I make it a square card but the background wouldn't have worked that way. I also usually use ribbon but my craft room is not all clean yet and I couldn't find any that matched.
So anyway, here's this cute little card. If you are going to a baby shower, let me know and I will let you have it.

A little elegance for you...
Ok, so here's my challenge card that was due by yesterday (and yes, here I am, a day late and a dollar short, I guess...) and here it is today. The challenge was to create an elegant wedding card. You should feel how heavy this thing is. Between the flowers and the brads and the layers of cardstock, the thing weighs about 50 pounds...Anyway, I hope you like the card!

Splitcoast Challenge Card
Ok, so my mother does more stamping than I do...
I am trying to get back into the swing of things.
This is for a group my mother got me involved with,
Double Dare Challenges...
So here's my card - the theme was time.
Don't we all wish we had more of it?

My first try at a gift card holder... needs some tweaking, I think...
Ok, followed the instructions on Splendiferous Creations which is a cool website by Lisa Somerville. This was made according to the instructions on the blog. I actually have made a few more, because this one is kinda big. I need to get a gift card for a birthday party Erin is going to over the weekend and I think this will fit the gift card and envelope both inside of this holder. I will give you an update later.
This was fun, though, with the crimper at the bottom giving it a really finished look.
I can also use this for a swap I am doing with buttons!

Getting Punchy!

How awesome are these cards that we made today at Robin's house? The first one is made with circles and says "thanks a bunch", the bunny one says "Easter Blessings", the hyacinth is made with about 35 punched flowers and pins, the sunflower card says "celebrate - life has many gifts - take time to unwrap them all" and the card with the basket says "joy".
How cute are they?
Guess I have to buy more punches!

Enough with the Vintage Violet, already!
Ok, color challenge for SU Fans swap this week was Sahara Sand, Vintage Violet and Pixie Pink. I never would have made the card last night with the violet if I had remembered the combo for this week. Anyway, I had fun using my "think big" set, and was thrilled to see how well it worked with my new flower punch!Anyway, I like the flowers, the brads, the colors (I think) and I hope the girls in my swap group will too.
Thanks for looking!

Card to send to a girlfriend
This was really a challenge for me. Almost all the cards I make (or swap) would be great to send to a girlfriend for whatever the occasion. At first I thought I needed to use something with pocketbooks or whatever... but I basically decided that anything would do. This card is made with the set "All the Best" from 2004. Colors are hard to tell - Mellow Moss for the leaves, Vintage Violet and Apricot Appeal for the flowers, and Basic Brown for the sentiment. Paper is Vintage Violet, with white and a tan that I thought looked nice, along with some colored brads. Hope you enjoy!Sunday, April 1, 2007
Ok, I have been cleaning...but still not done. Ugh!

New Stamp Set - "Doodle This"
We started at about 8:00 (because, of course, I was late) and I was done at about quarter of ten.
I even did my envelopes as well. Lord knows I'll never send them, since they're too pretty to leave my house... :)
Thanks again, Robin!
Woohoo! Stamping tonight!
Hooray! Heading to my demo's house tonight to stamp with my mother and some other great stamping ladies! Can't wait to see what she has planned for us!

Did some stamping last night - for my swap group - my first one in probably a year... inspired by my Demo, Robin... Check out her blog which is amazing...
This is Cool Carribbean with some peachy color I had hanging around - add Cameo Coral to my list, please! You never know what you need until you need it!
Ink color is Cool Carribean, True Thyme and Basic Brown. I love my new ticket punch - I seem to be using it more and more these days! I also left the space for the sentiment blank. You never know what you might need the card for!
Have a great night!

Hooray! Made some cards tonight for the first time in months!
I've been cleaning down there (and even now have a TV down there).
Here's what I made tonight -

Criss-Cross card for Erin and a multi-layered card for a birthday (Tommy has 3 parties this weekend!). Does this look ok for a little boy?
Maybe the TV will help me to get motivated. Anyway, maybe the room will stay clean if I can watch American Idol while I straighten up!

Holiday Ranting
Foamy is at it again. As usual, this is a cartoon not for the kiddies...
See Foamy freak out over the lack of Christmas Spirit in Christmas due to the fear of "offending others"...

A Tribute - My grandfather has passed away
This is a picture of my Grampy like I remember him when I was a little girl. It was probably taken in the 1970's when he was in his 50's or so. This is the way I want to remember him, not how he has been for the last few years. I wish my kids had seen him this way, and could remember him like this. He was a very hard working man, who loved his family and friends and had a wonderful sense of community and fellowship. His many years of working with Rotary and especially Camp Rotary will be his legacy.Harold Vincent Fredrickson
